The PM-5 2-Axis Gimbal was designed for multiple purposes including comms pointing, optical payload pointing and thrust vectoring of small spacecraft.
With a minimum step size of <0.01 deg/step (<0.001 deg/step when microstepping), the PM-5 is a standardized solution across multiple customer needs and can be used for rough maneuvers as well as precision pointing.
The PM-5 employs a highly optimized design with no bearings, no greases, and a wide thermal range. This extends life, reduces dither and jitter risks all while simplifying the system.
The gimbal can be provided directly to a spacecraft for integration or provided to your payload vendor for final hardware and module integration. Pre-installed fluid interfaces can be provided for thruster integration.
The PM-5 is an extremely mass and volume efficient, low-cost and short leadtime solution for the age of flexible small spacecraft.
